When it comes to expert design, the proof is very much in the résumé. Having received her National Diploma in clothing at the CUT and being the best student in her course for two years running, Jolandi Hechroodt felt there was more to learn and be discovered in the exhilarating world of clothing design. She therefore went on to study further at the prestigious Victoria Toma Institute of Fashion Design and was selected as one of 20 finalists to participate in the international competition Le Eliote de la Mode Belgium, where she was awarded 4th place. Following this, she decided to get her degree in fashion at the TUT in Pretoria and was selected as one of 50 finalists for the national Smirnoff 2000 competition.

In 2003 she was responsible for ensuring that the UFS Rag finalists looked ravishing during the crowning ceremony. In 2005, she was invited as one of only 8 designers across the country to design a collection for the Vodacom Durban July.

With extensive practical experience in Dress and Pattern design as well as the making of garments for various clients, Jolandi has been working in, and dominating, the industry for 10 years. She is well-known and respected for her exquisite eveningwear and wedding dresses. Her greatest pleasure in life is to create individual garments for individuals with superior taste.

When she is not busy creating one-of-a-kind masterpieces, she can be found imparting her knowledge on future generations as a lecturer at the Central University of Technology, where she has been presenting classes for the past 8 years.
